Citizens of Bangkok who are growing tired of the seemingly endless red shirt protests today took to the streets to stage a protest of their own. Wearing pink shirts they voiced their support for the current government and for a quick and peaceful end to the current political situation.
Over the last few weeks as the red protests have dragged on the general feeling within the city seems to be shifting away from support for the red shirts. Citizens of Bangkok are fed up with the endless traffic jams caused by the red parades and are worried about the message these protests are sending to the international community.
While neither the red or pink protests have directly affected any of the tourist areas it has been reported that tourism was down significantly during the month of March. With the red shirts losing support and the government gaining support it will be interesting to see who makes the next move.
